Give a Child with T1D the Power to be "Just a Kid"

Since 1958, Camp Nejeda has been a lifeline for children and teens living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Medical visits teach the theory of T1D, but camp is where kids get the hands-on practice and peer support they need to manage a life-threatening condition 24/7/365.

The Reality of the Need

It costs over $2,500 per week to provide the specialized medical care our campers require. To keep camp accessible, we set our 2026 fees at $1,725—yet even then, one-third of our families require full "camperships" to attend. We have never turned away a child due to an inability to pay, but we can only keep that promise with your help. We must raise over $1 million in charitable support this year.

How You Can Help

Every dollar helps bridge the gap between clinical theory and real-world confidence:

  • $5,000 – Stock counselor backpacks with supplies for a two-week session.
  • $2,500 – Sponsor a bus for a camp-wide trip.
  • $1,000 – Stock insulin pump patches for a full session.
  • $800 – Sponsor a specialized T1D nurse for one week.
  • $250 – Certify a counselor for specialized activities (Zipline, Rockwall, Lifeguarding).

Your gift ensures that every child, regardless of financial barriers, can join the fun and community at Camp Nejeda to build the lifelong skills and confidence needed to live a healthier, happier life.
